A quick but enjoyable project with the City of San Luis Obispo, California, visualizing the evolution of their transit services over the years, starting with the horse-drawn carriages of the early 1900s and ending with their brand new Gillig Advantage BRT buses with a new livery. Some fun and interesting vehicles for a small agency, including their very first bus which apparently was a converted horse trailer.
The project involved researching historic vehicles and unique liveries and recreating them based on photo reference. The illustrations are based on the designs of City Transit.
